My neighbor and compatriot in healthy living, Julie, has been telling me about these Dr. Furhman banana oat bars for a while now and a couple days ago she gave me a print out of the ingredients and directions.  I had all of the necessities on hand and was delighted to find it a very quick and easy recipe (my favorite kind!)  The best part was that both Charlie AND Jonny liked them.  I know this recipe has been around for a while, but if it's new to you too, give it a try.

BANANA OAT BARS

2 cups rolled oats (not instant)
1/4
cup
walnuts, chopped
1/2
cup
shredded unsweetened coconut
1/2
cup
raisins or chopped dates, I used dates
2
bananas, mashed
1/4
cup
unsweetened applesauce
1
tablespoon
date sugar (optional - I did not use)

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Mix ingredients together in a large bowl. Press dough in a 9X9 baking pan for thinner bars or 8X8 like I did.

3. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack. When cool, slice into squares or bars and serve. ENJOY!
